pureSGP, Vital Proteins, AVEA Life, Nature Heart and Sunday Natural all promise firmer skin. They are not selling the same thing.
Five tubs, five confident promises, one uncertain customer standing in the aisle. pureSGP, Vital Proteins, AVEA Life, Nature Heart and Sunday Natural all say roughly the same thing on the front of the pack: firmer skin, stronger nails, a glow from the inside. Look past the labels and they are playing four different games, and only one of them is really about the molecule.
From your mid twenties your body makes less collagen every year. Every brand here is a different answer to that one fact. The question is whether you are paying for chemistry or for reassurance.
Five brands at a glance
| Brand | Core pitch | Molecule and daily dose | The honest catch |
|---|---|---|---|
| pureSGP | Purest collagen in pharmacy quality | Standard peptides, about 10 to 15 g | Conventional mechanism, dressed as pharmacy authority |
| Vital Proteins | Easy daily glow from the inside | Bovine and marine peptides, about 10 to 15 g | Little to separate the formula technically |
| AVEA Life | A collagen activator for longevity | Activator system, capsules and sachets | Premium price, complex routine |
| Nature Heart | Natural, tested, fair value | Standard peptides, classic dose | Broad brand story, no distinct mechanism |
| Sunday Natural, SunGlow Luxe | A signal to build your own collagen | Tripeptides, about 500 Da, 2.3 g | Newer approach, premium, oral collagen evidence still young |
pureSGP, the pharmacy play
The German brand sells purest collagen in pharmacy quality, aimed at women in their late thirties and beyond who want to feel safe rather than trend led. Its strongest card is credibility borrowed from pharmacists and clinicians, and it points to being the top selling collagen powder in German pharmacies by pack sales, a claim it attributes to Insight Health data. What it is actually selling is standard hydrolysed collagen peptides in a reassuring white and red uniform. The mechanism underneath is the conventional one.
Vital Proteins, the scale play
The name most people picture. It made collagen a pantry habit, a scoop stirred into coffee, sold through a celebrity partnership, huge presence in retail and online, and a wall of reviews. Bovine and marine peptides, gummies, shots, the lot. As a habit builder it is unbeaten. As a formulation it is deliberately plain, roughly 10 to 15 grams of ordinary peptides a day, and the pitch is convenience and lifestyle rather than any claim about how the collagen behaves once you swallow it.
AVEA Life, the longevity play
Swiss, premium, and careful not to call its hero product collagen at all. It sells a collagen activator inside a wider longevity system, backed by a scientific advisory board, Swiss testing, outcome percentages and a guarantee of 90 days, with a quiz to route you to a routine. One of its ad hooks more or less opens by saying collagen does not work, then sells you the fix. It is the most scientific in tone. It is also the most expensive and the most complicated to actually follow.
Nature Heart, the value play
A German, founder led brand built on natural positioning, independent laboratory testing and a very large pile of customer reviews, often around 4.8 out of 5, wrapped in a from heart to heart tone and frequent bundles and sale pricing. You get honest, tested collagen at a fair price. What you do not get is a distinct mechanism. The brand story is broad and gentle rather than sharp.
Sunday Natural, the mechanism play
This is the one that does not try to win the game the others are playing. Its SunGlow Luxe line is built on collagen tripeptides, fragments of about 500 daltons, at least 80 percent tripeptide content, taken at 2.3 grams a day rather than ten or more. The claim is different in kind. Instead of supplying collagen as raw material for the body to break down, the small tripeptides are meant to act as a signal that prompts your body to build its own. Sunday lays the contrast out plainly in its own explainer. The powder dissolves fully, tastes of nothing, and the collagen is sourced from cattle raised on pasture. The range runs from a neutral Original at 19.90 euros for 180 grams through a Plus with biotin, zinc and hyaluronic acid, a capsule version, and matcha and cacao if you would rather drink it than dose it.
What that means for your decision
None of this comes with a guarantee. The research on oral collagen is still young across the whole aisle, and it is hard to prove how much of any swallowed peptide reaches skin rather than being used as fuel. Smaller molecules absorb more easily, which is a genuine edge, but easier absorption is not the same as a visible result, and any brand promising a fixed transformation in a set number of weeks is overselling. That caution applies to all five names here, Sunday included.
So compare on the thing that actually differs. Four of these brands are asking you to trust a source, a celebrity, a lab badge or a pharmacy shelf. One is asking you to look at the size of the molecule. On the question of whether any of it gets absorbed, that is the more useful one to be asked.
